When is the best time to visit Uganda?

Uganda sits on the Equator, so it is warm all year. The drier months — June to September and December to February — are generally the easiest for gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking and game drives, as forest trails are less muddy and roads are easier.

The wetter months — March to May and October to November — bring lush green scenery, fewer visitors and excellent birdwatching. Treks can be more slippery, so good boots and rain gear help.

Whatever the season, permits for gorillas and chimpanzees are limited, so we recommend booking early. Email us your preferred dates and we will advise on availability.
